OUR MISSION
Our mission is to teach the good news of salvation to all people so that they may be saved by God’s grace. We simply want to be Christians who are trying to be more like Jesus every day. We recognize Jesus as the head of the church with elders overseeing the local congregation, and we seek to build a personal relationship with God and with each other.
THINGS WE BELIEVE
(The following statements are not intended as a church creed nor as an exhaustive list of our beliefs.)
WE BELIEVE that there is only one true, eternal God. In His infinite wisdom, He is the creator of all life and of all the universe. He equally exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that God in his very nature is love.
(See Genesis 1:1. 26-27; John 1:1-3, 14; Acts 5:3-4; 1 John 4:7-8)
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, equal with God the Father and the God the Holy Spirit. Christ became flesh, and as part of God’s redemptive plan, He died on the cross and rose from the dead three days later. Forty days later, he ascended into heaven to sit on the right hand of God to be our mediator. We believe that Jesus will return one day to pass final judgment and to redeem the saved—those who have acknowledged their faith in Him and submitted to His will.
(See John 1:1-3, 14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Luke 24:50-51; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; 2 Corinthians 5:10)
WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit is God’s gift to dwell within Christians. His role in our life is to help us and guide us to be holy in our everyday walk of life.
(See 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 8:13-14, 26-27)
WE BELIEVE that because of sin (humanity’s disobedience to God’s laws), mankind was separated from God, and there had to be a sacrifice for sin to meet the demands of God. We further believe that God, in His infinite love and mercy, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to offer salvation to the world.
(See Romans 3:23; 6:23; 5:8-11)
WE BELIEVE that salvation is by God’s grace through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. The message of Christ calls people to be saved by God from eternal punishment. The Scriptures call those who wish to be saved to turn from their sins, confess Jesus as Lord, and be baptized (immersed) in water, reenacting the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ in obedience to the gospel.
(See Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16-17; Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
WE BELIEVE that the church is God’s universal family, the one body made up of those who have submitted in obedience to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and who have been saved by God’s grace.
(See Matthew 16:15-18; Acts 2:47; Galatians 3:26-28)
WE BELIEVE that there is only one true, eternal God. In His infinite wisdom, He is the creator of all life and of all the universe. He equally exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that God in his very nature is love.
(See Genesis 1:1. 26-27; John 1:1-3, 14; Acts 5:3-4; 1 John 4:7-8)
WE BELIEVE that when Jesus returns, all of God’s people—both alive and dead—will be transformed to live with Him forever.
(See John 14:1-3; 1 Corinthians 15:51-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
WE BELIEVE that God created each person to be either male or female—complementary genders that reflect the image and nature of God—
and that rejection of one’s biological gender is a rejection of the image of God in that person.
(See Genesis 2:26-27)
WE BELIEVE that God ordained marriage to be a covenant relationship between a biological man and a biological woman, and that God intended sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. Because of this, we only recognize marriages between a biological man and a biological woman, and the only weddings hosted on our property will be those which are between a man and a woman who have not rejected their God-given genders.
(See Genesis 1:18-24; 1 Corinthians 6:15-18; Matthew 19:4-6; Hebrews 13:4)
WE BELIEVE that every person is created in the image of God and that they should be treated with love and kindness. Even when there are disagreements, hateful attitudes and actions are to be rejected as not in line with the teaching of the Scriptures.
(See Genesis 1:26-27; Mark 12:31; Luke 6:31-36; Romans 13:10; Ephesians 4:15)
WE BELIEVE that the sixty-six books of the Bible are the inspired word of God, and that the Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind.
(See 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
